Working in Faith Laboring in Love Remaining steadfast in the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ (CDC motto adapted from I Thess. 1:2-3)
MEMBERSHIP
The members of Concordia Deaconess Conference are certified, commissioned and rostered deaconesses of the LCMS, or officially designated as deaconesses by a Partner Church of Synod. They are communicant members of an LCMS congregation (or a congregation of a Partner Church) and do not hold membership in any other deaconess conference or association. Deaconesses may apply and be accepted into CDC on Active, Emeritus, Candidate, or Non-Candidate status, following the classification of Synod.
Upon approval of their membership application, new members sign the CDC Constitution and Code of Ethics when attending their first annual CDC gathering. As a welcome to CDC, each deaconess is given a gold cross pin and arm insignia, which are part of the CDC uniform. New members may expect to be contacted with additional information regarding membership privileges, yearly conference information, and opportunities for service within CDC. They will also receive Blues News, the conference newsletter which is published eight times per year.
Beginning the January following their reception into membership, CDC members pay $75 in annual dues (with the exception that an Emeritus Deaconess does not pay dues.)
MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS If you are interested in joining Concordia Deaconess Conference, please read the Constitution and Code of Ethics, which can be downloaded here along with the appropriate application form.
